I’m a huge fruity cider lover (yes I know that cider is made of fruit…) and I love mango cider in particular, so I was happy to try this one from ODC Drinks. It wasn’t as sweet as I thought it would be, and it was a perfect match for the pizzas I tried.
The pomegranate was sweeter, but you could still finish 2 bottles easily on a Sunday afternoon in a pub garden.
I tried 4 different pizzas and I still can’t decide what my favourite it.
Above is the Vegan Allo Aloha pizza – fresh pineapple with field mushrooms and Bute Island vegan mozzarella with avocado and fresh chilli. I recommend going easy on the chillies unless you love it hot. My first bite nearly sent me to the nearest water fountain, but I hate chillies.
Next the Vegan Hazel Nutter with spinach, caramelized onions, field mushrooms, asparagus, tomato sauce and Bute Island vegan mozzarella and topped with roasted hazelnuts. This was AMAZING! If I had known what was on it, I probably wouldn’t have tried it, but I am super glad I did.
Also, Billy The Kid with Rosary goats’ cheese, caramelized onions, field mushrooms, spinach, tomato sauce and mozzarella. Again, it was topped with hazelnuts. It was nice, I’d share it with someone but I wouldn’t order it for myself because I’m not a spinach fan.
Finally, I tried the West Country Porker. Yes, this was as amazing as the name suggests. Bath Pig chorizo, tomato sauce and mozzarella, topped with peppery rocket and house Dijon dressing… It made my heart sing. Every bite was like heaven and I actually wish I’d ordered a whole one for myself.
It’s so nice to see somewhere with a well thought out vegan menu, instead of just salads, and I’ll definitely be going back when the next pizza cravings hit.
Hope to see you there one day!
